A Place To Bury Strangers play epic SXSW gig

Brooklyn rockers A Place To Bury Strangers� won countless new fans and got tongues wagging at SXSW in the early hours of this morning (March 15), playing an epic gig at the Wave venue as part of NME�s showcase gigs at the Texas festival.

The threesome played an intense five-song set punctuated by blasts of dry ice, walls of guitar noise and gob-smacked reaction from the crowd.

There was a genuine sense of event around the gig as it progressed, with many punters grabbing band members and their manager after the show to find out more about the band, who have been proclaimed 'the loudest band in New York'.

During the gig, guitarist Oliver Ackerman and bassist Jono MOFO fell to the ground as they thrashed their instruments, much to the delight of the packed-out crowd.

As soon as the gig was over, new fans scrabbled to buy the band's CD and hassle their manager, who was on-site, for information about when they could catch the band live next.

They revealed that they will play UK gigs from May 7 this year.
