SXSW: Joe Lean And The Jing Jang Jong rock Emo's

Fast-rising indie band rock out in Texas

Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong played a rocking set at Emoï¿½s in Austin as part of the SXSW festival tonight (March 15), playing eight songs to a big crowd.

The Jing Jang Jong took the stage at 9pm (CMT), playing instrumental number 'Tough Terrible', for which frontman Joe Lean emerged near the end, bashing a drum and dancing manically.

From there the band raced through fast-paced songs such as 'Where Do You Go?' and 'Teenagers', the latter of which Lean introduced as "a song about fucking".

"It's not the best time for a chat, is it?," said Lean before playing the aforementioned 'In Competition', referring to a contingent of nattering music fans in the venue.

The Jing Jang Jong's drummber Bummer upped the ante of the set by peeling off his shirt after 'Lucio Starts Fires' while, during new single'Lonely Buoy', Lean wrapped his tie around his forehead while singing the song to mass approval from the crowd.
