Fourth person dies following SXSW car crash

A fourth person has died following the car crash at SXSW in Austin, Texas earlier this month.

Deandre Tatum, 18, passed away earlier today (March 27) at the city's University Medical Center Brackenridge, reports the Austin American Statesman. Steven Craenmehr, 35, from Amsterdam, who worked for the MassiveMusic music agency, and local woman Jamie Ranae West, 27, died shortly after the accident on March 12, whilst Sandy Le, 27, died of her injuries in hospital the following week.

More than 20 people were injured in the incident, when Rashad Owens avoided a drink driving checkpoint and drove down a busy street on which there were a number of venues taking part in the music festival.

As previously reported, Owens was an aspiring rapper who was scheduled to play a late-night show at Club 1808 as part of the festival. He remains in Travis County Jail, charged with capital murder. Owens' bail is set at $3 million.
