Syd Barrett’s bikes and art go under the hammer
His handmade furniture is also auctioned
Two of Syd Barrett’s hand painted bikes, various pieces of his art and a classical guitar are up for auction in Cambridge.
Barrett, the original leader of Pink Floyd and one of rock’s most famous recluses, died in July from pancreatic cancer.
Cheffins, a Cambridge auction house, will put most of Barrett’s possessions under the hammer, including home-made speakers, books, easels and paints.
Some of the songwriter’s homemade furniture will also be available to buy. A spokesperson from Cheffin’s told BBC News: “He was passionate about, although not always competent at, DIY.”
The sale will take place on November 29 and 30, and the sale will be available to view online at Cheffins.co.uk nearer to the auction date.
