'HEAVY' STUFF!

Yeah, whatever, lads - get a move on, it's been ages...

System Of A Down will begin recording the follow-up to 2001’s TOXICITY early this summer, and it will be "heavy in emotion".

The band have almost finished pre-production for the currently untitled album, which will be produced by Rick Rubin and scheduled for release by the end of the year.

"The whole world's gone crazy over the past couple of years, so that's brought out a lot of emotions and affected our songwriting," said guitarist Daron Malakian in a statement. "We just want to make a great rock record, a record that will be heavy, but heavy in emotion, not just heavy in riffs."

"There will definitely be a bunch of interesting topics that will come up," frontman Serj Tankian told Billboard.
