T In The Park boss speaks about on-site stabbing T In The Park Tickets

Festival chief says he's 'despondent' about attack

T In The Park boss speaks about on-site stabbing
Geoff Ellis, boss of the T In The Park festival, has spoken exclusively to NME.COM about the stabbing that occurred in the early hours of this morning (July 13) in one of the camp sites.

As previously reported on NME.COM, a man suffered multiple stab wounds at the Scottish festival in the early hours of this morning, and is currently in hospital in Dundee.

Police are looking for two suspects, although no arrests have been made in relation to the incident so far.

Ellis said he was "despondent" about the incident, saying that he hoped the two suspects police had identified were caught as soon as possible.

"We're despondent about it," he told NME.COM. "Does it cast a cloud over the festival? Well, as serious as it is, it is an isolated incident, and we've had a really well-behaved festival here so far.

"Unfortunately, we're seeing things like this in society today, it seems to be on the rise in general. The security here is really robust – we've got a big fence around the site, for example, but it'd be foolish to say that it's impossible to get illegal things [such as knives] into the site."

Keep up with all the action from T In The Park and Oxegen Festival this weekend (July 11-13) as it happens on NME.COM.
