Tabloid Hell: Amy Winehouse, exhausted or in pub…?
Singer Summer Pops absence explained?
The tabloids are reporting that Amy Winehouse didn’t cancel her Summer Pops performance on Wednesday (July 4) because she was "exhausted" as claimed but because she was in the boozer instead.
Using a grainy camera phone photo of her and her husband Blake Fielder-Civil as hard evidence, the red tops are in a tizz today (July 5) as they claim that she was in her local drinking haunt The Hawley Arms in Camden when she should have been singing 'no, no, no' to the revellers at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool.
Shock horror, management slapped down a “no comment” to the accusations.
With a fan Sophie Appleton from Wigan apparently "storming" she told The Sun: ”We heard her rehearsing earlier in the afternoon and she seemed fine. It’s strange her scrapping the performance with fans already here.”
Meanwhile, the gig has been rearranged for July 18 and otherwise the singer has said fans can get a refund - she didn’t add that the drinks were on her though.
