Tabloid Hell: Arctic Monkeys no longer responsible for dance horror?

Peter Crouch promises to stop THAT move

Tabloid Hell: Arctic Monkeys no longer responsible for dance horror?

Arctic Monkeys have almost been given the all-clear for being eternally responsible for the most embarrassing dance in the world.

Peter Crouch, Liverpool footballer and WAG attendant, famously did ’The Crouch’ - the robot dance he did after scoring for England in friendlies before the 2006 World Cup.

It soon came to light that it was a line in ’I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor’ was responsible for the move. Namely “Dancing to electro-pop like a robot from 1984.”

As we all know, however, ’The Crouch’ then became the drunk-dad-at-wedding staple. Even Chris Martin did the dance on stage. Not one of Coldplay’s finest moments.

Now, however, Crouch has insisted he won’t do the dance again, unless he scores in a Champions League final.

Crouch said: “I feel like Ricky Gervais must do with everyone going, 'Do the David Brent dance.'

“From now on it’s special occasions only. If I score in the Champions League final, I’ll put it out again.”

We can only envision a nightmare scenario where Tom Jones does his version of the Monkeys classic as Crouch does his trademark move. And we creep further behind the sofa in embarrassment.
