Tabloid Hell: Arctic Monkeys' celebrity snub

Arctic MonkeysAlex Turner has proved himself to be a bit of a man about town recently, being papped in all manner of swish bars and nightclubs with his fellow indie glitterati.

So it was a bit of a surprise to read in the red-tops today (November 20) that the Monkey man couldn’t even bag himself an invite to Texas singer Sharleen Spiteri’s 40th birthday party bash at the weekend.

Still, it didn’t stop him gatecrashing the knees-up at London’s well posh Bungalow 8 venue with a load of mates and quaffing free booze like there was a little fire in his stomach he was desperate to put out.

Sharleen didn’t seem to mind, though – apparently as soon as she spotted the indie hero she sidled up and asked for an autograph - only to be met with total indifference, as Alex had no idea who she was.

Aparrently Sharleen told Alex she’d been making music “since before he was born”, a statement only met with a Sheffield shrug before he signed the note.

Come on Al, if it wasn’t for, erm, 'I Don't Want A Lover', Arctic Monkeys wouldn’t even exist... possibly.
