Britney Spears isn’t the only one in her family soon to be vying for “mum of the year” gongs, it seems – as the red-tops are reporting that her sister, 16 year-old Nickelodeon presenter Jamie-Lynn Spears, is pregnant.

Not that she’s been tapping up her older sis for advice on being a mother – apparently Britters found out the news by reading an article in OK! Magazine.

“Only one of my friends knew,” Spears junior, who named boyfriend Casey Aldridge as the father, revealed.

“I needed to work out what I would do for myself before I let anyone's opinion affect my decision. Then I told my parents and my friends. I was scared, but I had to do what was right for me.”

Does it get more trailer park than this? Unbelievable! I can only imagine what this poor child has in store for him or her. I also feel terrible for all the women out there trying to conceive but can't (I'm one of them), it truly adds salt to the wound to read this pathetic story. Please tell me Nickelodeon is dropping her. Seriously, what a terrible role model for young girls, I can only imagine all the copy cat teenage pregnancies that will come out of this! Spears family, please just go away!! Enough!

As a young girl myself it must be hard enough finding out your pregnant aswell as all the press getting involved just leave her alone its her own life shes earned her own money to support her child so leave her alone!

Stop being so bitter! When you wish bad things on others bad things happen to you! Also dont take Brits bad rep out on her sister. I had my daughter at 17 and am now a nurse at the biggest hospital in CA probably makin more money than you so calm the f*** down. If anything Jamie can take this and turn it around by being a great mother and showing everyone that her life is not over! Of course not every teen can be a great parent but lets face it this girl has got the money to raise the child, plus a support system , as crazy as they may be but they are there. I had neither of those things when I started and my lil girl is turning out wonderful, shes only four and could give you CPR if you needed it. To the lady talkin I am sorry you cant conceive but there are thousand of children w/no homes, just think about that. God does everything for a reason. Lets just wait and see how she does before you go judgeing her!

just because shes a celebrity and her sister has had problems recently people are making a huge deal of it!
get a life! Shes 16 and yeah people want and cant concieve a child but that isnt her fault! Its her decision and shes doing what she feels is right for her! Leave her alone!!!

I think the reason people are making a big deal out of it is because the legal age of consent in America is 18. This girl is 16 and her boyfriend is 19.

Jamie Lynn isn't the first teen to be pregnant but she's probably one of the most accomplished. The biggest worry with teen pregnancy in most cases is financial stability... she's got it with the emotional support from her family I'm sure she'll be fine. Congratulations Jamie Lynn and way to take responsibility for you adult actions that put you in this adult situation!
