Babyshambles man introduced to 'alien' faith by DJ

Pete Doherty is being introduced to the controversial religion Scientology, which counts Tom Cruise and Beck as members, by his new DJ girlfriend Nadine Ruddy.

According to today's Sun, the Babyshambles frontman is apparently very taken with the faith, which teaches that all humans are inhabited by the souls of aliens from other galaxies.

Showing enthusiasm for his new faith, Babyshambles' lead singer has bought an assortment of books on the religion by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.

The church was established in 1951 after Hubbard claimed: "The best way to make a million dollars is to start a religion."

I hope this isn't true. If it is, I'll lose all respect for the man's genius.

I think this is a great story. Scientology is just another idiotic 'faith' much like the must popular relgions we have around today. I don't know why people get so upset, its his life let him believe what he wants, because as far as I'm concerned its about as real as christianity or islam.

Let him do what he wants, Its a dumb religion (well cult) its mental that you have to pay for it, knowlege is free, and aliens are tad off the wall. but a man walking on water is also pretty bizzare. All religions a story, true or not, so meh freedom of choice and all that.Let pete be brainwashed if he wants to, its no different to the stuff they pump into you at church, mosques or temples etc
