The Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins and Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins are set to form a supergroup, according to tabloid reports today (September 23).

The Daily Star reports that the pair will be joined by Danish songwriter Mads Langer in the band, with Sue Whitehouse, former manager of The Darkness and ex-fiance of Justin Hawkins on vocals.

Langer apparently told the paper: "Justin's more musically varied than people give him credit for. We often talk about forming a band with me singing, Justin playing guitar and Taylor on drums."

The Darkness reunited earlier this year after originally parting company in 2006 and performed a comeback slot at Download Festival, they have also been recording a new album, which they have indicated is almost complete.

The Darkness tour the UK in November, playing 16 shows across the UK and Ireland, including a show at London's HMV Hammersmith Apollo.
