Robbie Williams will join Take That onstage

Band confirm he will play some shows

Robbie Williams will be joining his old band Take That in person on their UK comeback tour.

As reported yesterday (April 23) on NME.COM, the four-piece kicked off their first jaunt since 1995 in Newcastle on Sunday (April 23) – and although Robbie couldn’t be with them in person, he joined them via a 10ft hologram for a version of ‘Could It Be Magic’.

It was also revealed that Williams, who is just embarking on his own world solo tour, re-recorded his vocals on the track especially for the occasion.

But now frontman Gary Barlow has confirmed that Robbie will be joining them at some stage in person.

He told The Sun: “Robbie is doing more than one gig. I don’t know which dates, but he has told Mark Owen he is definitely coming back.”

He added: “It was our idea to do the hologram and Robbie was well up for it. We worried people would be disappointed when Rob didn’t appear from the hologram, but it went down well.”

And the band have confirmed there will be a new album from them, hopefully in time for Christmas. Jason Orange said of the LP: “It would be great if Rob wrote with us.”
