Take That continue to dominate UK charts

Comeback kings Take That have maintained their stranglehold on the UK singles and album chart tonight (December 17).

With a week to go before Xmas, the former boyband, who reformed to wild acclaim this year, top the singles chart with 'Patience', just edging out festive perennial Cliff Richard, who goes in at Two with '21st Century Christmas'.

The Top Ten is:
1. Take That - 'Patience'
2. Cliff Richard - '21st Century Christmas'
3. Gwen Stefani - 'Wind It Up'
4. Cascada - 'Truly Madly Deeply'
5. Booty Luv - 'Boogie 2nite'
6. Akon ft Eminem - 'Smack That'
7. Chris Cornell - 'You Know My Name'
8. P Diddy ft Christina Aguilera - 'Tell Me'
9. Lazy Town - 'Bing Bang (Time To Dance)'
10. The Pogues - 'Fairytale Of New York'

In the album chart, the boys' LP 'Beautiful World' continues to see off strong competition - and there greatest hits package 'Never Forget - The Ultimate Collection' is also at 21.

Oasis stay at Two with their best of collection 'Stop The Clocks'.
