Leona Lewis beats Take That in sales race
'X Factor' winner Leona Lewis is a dead cert for Christmas Number One single, according to the latest sales figures.
, who beat swing-obsessed Raymond Quinn in the talent contest at the weekend, has had her single ‘A Moment Like This’ rush-released in time for the festive race.
The song, originally recorded by 'American Idol' winner , is now running a one-horse race to top Sunday’s (December 24) chart, according to BBC NEWS.
The song, which has only just arrived in shops, has already beaten Gnarls Barkley’s ‘Crazy’ for the most downloads recorded in a single week, and is expected to pass the 732,000 sales achieved by last year’s winner with ‘That’s My Goal’.
‘A Moment Like This’ is set to dislodge Take That’s comeback single ‘Patience’ from the top spot – ironic since a duet between the two artists on ‘A Million Love Songs’ helped propel to victory on Saturday (December 16).
