Take That top UK singles chart
Take That
But Kaiser Chiefs triumph on the album countdown
Veterans Take That have today (March 4) scored their 10th UK number one with 'Shine'.
The resurgent boy band, whose latest UK tour sold out in three hours, secured their first chart-topper, 'Pray', in 1993.
But they couldn't repeat the chart-topping trick on the album countdown as Kaiser Chiefs see their second long-player 'Yours Truly, Angry Mob' enter at One.
The Leeds outfit drop to Number Two on the single chart with 'Ruby', while this week's NME cover-stars finally taste the Top 10 as 'Standing In The Way of Control' enters at Seven. It has been around the chart for the last 18 weeks on downloads alone.
On down the chart there are entries for Pigeon Detectives (19), Calvin Harris (32), The Maccabees (33) and The Horrors (34).
Aside from Kaiser Chiefs, the only other new entry on the album Top 10 comes at nine from Hayley Westenra with 'Treasure'.
This week's Top Ten singles are:
1. Take That - 'Shine'
2. Kaiser Chiefs - 'Ruby'
3. Gwen Stefani Ft Akon - 'The Sweet Escape'
4. Mika - 'Grace Kelly'
5. Fray - 'How To Save A Life'
