Take That kicked off their first UK and Ireland tour with Robbie Williams for 15 years in Sunderland last night (May 27).

Williams told the crowd at the Stadium Of Light to expect the "best [show] in the world", and later sang about superinjunctions during an apparently ad-libbed part of the set, reports The Sun.

The group included tracks such as 'Pray', 'Patience' and 'The Flood' in a career-spanning setlist, while Williams played a solo set of tracks such as 'Rock DJ' and 'Angels' midway through the gig.

Later, Williams joked about the superinjunctions which are currently hogging the news headlines, singing: "I've just done some coke and I've shagged a whore, that's what a superinjunction is for. Peter Reid [former Sunderland FC manager] has a monkeys heed, you could be a Mackam lass and piss on the floor. It's opening night."

The ad-lib was performed to the tune of 'Opening Night' from the musical The Producers'.

The 'Progress' tour show - believed to have cost £15 million to put together - featured acrobats, pyrotechnics and numerous costume changes.

Mark Owen later told The Sun that reuniting with Williams onstage was a "proud moment" for the band.

"We forget because we have been hanging around so much together, but the fact that all five of us are up there again is a brilliant thing. We just can't wait to get out there for the next two months. Then who knows what will happen?" he commented.

Take That played:

'Rule The World'
'Greatest Day'
'Hold Up A Light'
'Patience'
'Shine'
'Let Me Entertain You'
'Rock DJ'
'Come Undone'
'Feel'
'Angels'
'The Flood'
'SOS'
'Underground'
'Machine'
'Kidz'
'Pretty Things'
'Million Love Songs'/'Babe'
'Everything Changes'/'Back For Good'
'Pray'
'Love Letter'
'Never Forget'
'No Regrets'
'Relight My Fire'
'Eight Letters'

The band are due to play at the Stadium Of Light again tonight, Monday and Tuesday (28, 30 and 31), before playing numerous dates in Manchester, Cardiff, Glasgow, Birmingham, London and Dublin.
