Tame Impala perform three tracks from 'Lonerism' - watch Tame Impala Tickets
Australian pysch rockers play 'Elephant', 'Apocalypse Dreams' and 'Feels Like We Only Go Backwards' in the Norfolk Hotel basement
Tame Impala have unveiled footage of them performing three songs from new album 'Lonerism'.
Filmed as part of label Modular's Studio Sessions, the band recorded the film in the Norfolk Hotel basement in their Western Australia hometown of Perth. The basement was home to some of the band's earliest shows, and is now used as their main rehearsal space.
The video features three 'Lonerism' tracks, 'Elephant', 'Apocalypse Dreams' and 'Feels Like We Only Go Backwards'.
In an interview with LA Weekly frontman and driving force behind the band Kevin Parker disputed the theory that the second album is about loneliness. He said: "It's amazing how different people's perceptions of the album have been. Some people think I must have been really depressed, but a lot of people think it's much happier than the first album. He went on to say the title refers more to the idea of being alone in a crowd of people, rather than actual solitude.
Tame Impala recently completed a short tour of the UK, and are currently playing a run of shows in North America, before returning to Australia for a series of gigs in December.
While the band were in the UK, they spoke to NME about their favourite psych tracks. Click here to read about the band's thoughts on Queens Of The Stone Age, Jimi Hendrix, Funkadelic and The Velvet Underground.
