A Chilean news site claims to have found similarities between a Tame Impala song and a 1989 hit by Argentine child pop star Pablito Ruiz.

Chilean news site Rata.cl claims musicologists have agreed on a startling similarity between Tame Impala's 'Feels Like We're Only Going Backwards', which appears on the group's hugely successful 2012 album 'Lonerism', and Ruiz's 1989 single Océano. Neither Ruiz nor Tame Impala have responded to the website's claims.

Tame Imapala are due to perform in Ruiz's native Argentina on November 24. The group picked up Grammy nominations and three Australian ARIA Awards following the success of 'Lonerism', causing frontman Kevin Parker to say he worried the acclaim would build expectations for the next album beyond realistic levels. "With each award we get, we become a little bit more overrated," he said. "That's what it feels like. It's like the next album is going to come out and, well, I'm not sure what people will be expecting."

Born in 1975, Ruiz released his first album, 'Pablo Ruiz', at the age of 10. His latest and twelfth album, 'Renacer', was released in 2009.
