Tegan and Sara join Taylor Swift onstage in Los Angeles

The sister duo performed their track 'Closer' with the pop sensation

Taylor Swift bought out sister duo Tegan and Sara to perform their track 'Closer' with her onstage in Los Angeles earlier this week.

Swift introduced the pair onto the Staples Center stage on Tuesday night (August 20) by calling their latest LP, 'Heartthrob' "one of my favorites of all time". She added: "If you've ever had your heart broken, you need to have their album." Scroll down to watch fan-shot footage of the performance.

Taylor Swift performed for two successive at the Los Angeles arena, also bringing on Cher Lloyd, Sara Bareilles and Ed Sheeran as special guests the previous evening (August 19), reports Rolling Stone.

Taylor Swift recently revealed that she chipped her tooth during a recent live show after "uppercutting" herself in the mouth. The pop star was performing live in Pittsburgh as part of her 'Red' world tour on July 6 when she accidentally crashed the microphone into her mouth during a performance of the hit single 'I Knew You Were Trouble'.

A competition offering the chance to have a picture taken with Taylor Swift backstage at one of her concerts was recently cancelled because online communities 4chan and Reddit conspired to ensure a "fat old guy" named Charles would win.
