Taylor Swift has become the most popular person on Instagram with over 45 million followers.

The pop star reached the landmark point yesterday (September 8) when she clocked up 45.7 million followers. The figure took her past Kim Kardashian (45.6 million followers), who herself had only recently taken the title from Beyoncé.

Swift has yet to address her new status as Instagram's most popular.

One of her most recent posts was a picture of flowers that she had been sent by Kanye West. She has suggested that she would be open to running with West in his bid to be US President in 2020.

The rapper claimed that he'll run for office in 2020, during his acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards last month (August 30). West said, "It's not about me. It's about ideas. New ideas. People with ideas. People who believe in truth. And yes, as you probably could've guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for President."

Swift, who presented West with the Video Vanguard Award at the MTV VMAs, has now hinted at a political team-up between the pair which would see West running for President and Swift being his Vice President if successful.

Awwww Kanye sent me the coolest flowers!! #KanTay2020 #BFFs
