Tears For Fears have opened up about their electro cover of Arcade Fire's 'Ready To Start'.

The electro duo posted their cover online earlier this week. They said they decided to cover the track to help inject life into recording sessions for their first album since 2004. You can listen to their cover below.

Band member Roland Orzabal told Rolling Stone: "The idea was before we actually had any material, before we got together, that we might try and do a couple of cover versions to sort of kickstart the recording process again. I had that bloody melody going round and round and round in my head. It's not like the original."

The electro veterans also revealed that they started work on the follow up to 2004's 'Everybody Loves A Happy Ending' last November (2012) while on a tour in Brazil. Curt Smith added: "We felt the time was right to go and do something new. There's one track that's a combination of Portishead and Queen. It's just crazy."

The duo are also planning to release a remastered deluxe version of their debut album 'The Hurting' to celebrate the LP's 30th anniversary in October. The box set will pair the remastered record with two CDs of remixes and B-sides, including 'Suffer The Children' and 'Pale Shelter' singles. A DVD of 'In My Mind's Eye', a 1984 concert filmed at Hammersmith Apollo, will come with the box set.
