BLACK HUMOUR!

The actor helps out his New York rocker pals...

THE MOONEY SUZUKI have recruited famous fan JACK BLACK to help out on their new video.

The actor and Tenacious D star plays the role of the band's manager in the video for the new US single 'In A Young Man's Mind'. At the start of the video, Black is seen in the back of a car, giving 'advice' to the band, as well as screaming down the phone at nightclub owners.

"They had a great time filming," a source close to the band told NME.COM. "He's a fan and they met when the Mooneys did a tour with The Strokes. He's a fan and was happy to appear!"

The Mooney Suzuki are keen to return the favour and will be making a cameo in the forthcoming Tenacious D movie. Before that hits the screens, they will come to the UK in May for a tour to promote their album 'Electric Sweat', which is released on May 12 via Columbia. Last year, the band toured with the likes of [a][/a] and fellow New York friends The Strokes.

The shows are at:

Leeds Cockpit (11)
Glasgow Barfly (12)
Liverpool The Masque (13)
Manchester Night & Day (14)
