D LIGHT!

Jack Black's group reveal all about 'Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny'...

Shooting for Tenacious D's feature film will begin in March, it has been revealed.

As previously reported, Jack Black's group have been working with 'United States Of Whatever' star Liam Lynch on the script to 'Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny'.

The soundtrack is likely to be the follow-up to their 2001 debut album.

Speaking to Billboard in the US, bandmember Kyle Gass said that studio time for the band, and the filming is booked. A tentative release date of Christmas next year has been set.

He said: "It's definitely the funniest movie on paper that I've ever read. It starts off as kind of how the D was formed. It goes into a quest for 'the pick,' a magical pick that will supposedly help us rock like the rock gods we so admire. It's a zillion laughs.

"I'm sure New Line would love to have the movie come out by Christmas next year. Then, we'll embark on the Tenacious D world tour. Then, we'll make the really bad sequel. But we'll make zillions of dollars. Then, one more crappy album and that is it. We are done. The goal is to not ever have to do it again."
