The band reunite in LA

The surviving members of The Beach Boys have appeared together for the first time in over a decade.

Mike Love, Brian Wilson and Al Jardine joined touring members Bruce Johnston and David Marks on top of the famous Capitol Records building in Los Angeles yesterday (June 12).

The group were being presented with an award for their 2003 greatest hits ‘The Sounds of Summer’ going double platinum. It has sold two million copies alone in the US.

The Beach Boys were also celebrating the 40th anniversary of the release of their classic ‘Pet Sounds’ album.

The other original band members, Dennis and Carl Wilson, died in 1983 and 1998 respectively.

The surviving members have split into different factions in the last few years. Brian Wilson has been touring with his own band under his own name to massive acclaim in the last few years, while the remaining members have been touring as The Beach Boys.
