Mike Love and Al Jardine agree on a settlement

Mike Love and Al Jardine, who had both been using The Beach Boys band name in reference to their own musical work since the disbanding of the original line-up of which they were a part of, have agreed on a settlement over use of the name.

Love had sued Jardine for $3million (£1.5million), claiming that he was the only person allowed to use The Beach Boys name, and as such Jardine was an unlicensed act.

After two days of discussions at the Superior Court in Los Angeles Jardine’s lawyer has announced that the two have agreed on a settlement. As such a trial which had been set to begin next month will not have to take place, reports BBC News.

No details of the settlement have been released.
