Beatles take 'one small step' for pop songs

Fab Four track set for deep space transmission
The Beatles' song ’Across The Universe’ is set to be played literally across the universe, after it was announce the song will be the first track beamed directly into space.
The Fab Four’s song has been selected by NASA to be transmitted through their Deep Space Network of antennas, towards the North Star, Polaris, 431 light-years from Earth.
The songs was selected for broadcast to mark the 40th anniversary of its recording, and NASA’s 50th birthday, BBC News reports.
’Across The Universe’ will be broadcast at midnight GMT on Monday (February 4) and the space agency have asked fans to join in by playing the song themselves at the same time.
Describing the broadcast as a “amazing feat”, Paul McCartney welcomed the transmission saying "Well done, NASA. Send my love to the aliens!”
