First ever Beatles day to be held in Liverpool

July 10 will be official day of celebration for the Fab Four

Liverpool will host the first ever Beatles day on July 10.

The day will mark the 44th anniversary of the return of the band to their native city after touring in America.

To mark the day thousands of mop-top Beatles wigs will be on sale across the city, along with inflatable guitars. Businesses in the city will be encouraged to decorate their establishments with Beatles memorabilia.

Local radio stations will be playing Beatles music heavily and ask listeners to go on air and relay Beatles-related stories and anecdotes, reports the Liberpool Echo.

There will also be fund-raising events across the city to raise money for charities.

I think it's stupid. I'm from Liverpool, and it still shows we haven't moved on. I love the Beatles, but am sick of the way my city has to remind everyone that they're from here.John Lennon wasn't a fan of his home city himself, that's why he moved to New York. And we've named a airport after him! Ridiculous!

Geez you lot, if it wasn't for "The Beatles " Liverpool wouldn't exist, before them it was a run down shipyard town with crap beer and ugly women. And half of that statement still runs true ( figure out which part yourself) LOL
