Beatles and Rolling Stones members sign up for Rock Fantasy Camp

Rock masterclass set for UK launch

Members of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd have signed up for the UK version of Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy Camp.

The US institution sees participants sign up for a week-long masterclass with rock heroes, getting the ultimate training for living the rock dream.

The camp was satirised on 'The Simpsons' in the episode 'How I Spent My Strummer Vacation', which saw Homer tutored by real life stars including Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Lenny Kravitz, who all provided their own voices for the show.

Now the camp is coming to the UK, at Abbey Road Studios, from November 4-9.

Confirmed to aid the course so far are former Rolling Stone Bill Wyman, Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason, AC/DC alumnus Chris Slade, Aerosmith producer and songwriter Mark Hudson, Mott The Hoople's Mick Ralphs, and The Beach Boys' Jeffrey Froskett and Kip Winger.

At the end of the camp, the stars and participants will play a gig at Liverpool's Cavern Club joined by original Beatle Pete Best.

For £7,500 participants can spend six ten-hour days jamming, recording and socialising with the stars at Abbey Road in the lead up to the Cavern show.

Camp tutor Nick Mason said in a stetement: "You head straight into a totally accurate rock 'n' roll experience. There are endless opportunities to pick up playing techniques and tricks from the professionals.

"The musical ability of the participants is as varied as their backgrounds and this, for me, was one of the best aspects. As a social event, the camp scores top marks."

This is perhaps the most ridiculous idea I have ever heard. Of course they do it in America! Its America!...Perhaps Johnny Borrell, Doherty and that prat from the Kaiser chiefs should get in on the franchise - "Cockcamp.com"...on the other hand I think that web address is already taken..

Bill Wyman and Pete Best? That's your Beatles and Rolling Stones members? Jesus. Pete was a Beatle for all of five minutes, and Wyman left the Stones about a trillion live shows ago.
