A new Beatles film featuring fan-shot footage has been given the go-ahead.

The band's record company Apple Corps has approved plans by the production company One Voice One World to start searching for amateur-or professional-shot clips of the group during their tours in the 1960s.

The film - 'The Beatles Live! Project' - is set to include images, music, interviews and stories that document the 250 shows the Fab Four played in 116 cities between October 1963 and August 1966. A video appealing to fans for footage has been uploaded on the project's official website Thebeatlesliveproject.com. Scroll down below to view the clip.

Efforts to start tracking down video started this morning (November 15), with OVOW assembling worldwide research teams and developing new social media tools. The company will also receive assistance from archivists, collectors, Beatles fan clubs, film restoration-experts, academics and writers. OVOW is a reference to The Beatles' final live show in the 'Our World' satellite broadcast on June 25, 1967.
