The original cartoons for The Beatles' psychadelic animated film Yellow Submarine are up for sale.

The 80 drawings are expected to fetch £125,000 when they go up for sale at Heritage Auctions in Los Angeles on November 20.

The scenes are hand-painted on sheets of celluloid and were originally owned by a collector who worked on the 1968 film, in which the band travel to Pepperland to save it from the Blue Meanies, The Times reports.

Earlier this week, a preview of the second volume of The Beatles 'Live At The BBC' collection began streaming online – listen to it below.

The original collection of recordings was released in 1994, hitting Number One in the UK charts and selling more than five million copies worldwide within its first six weeks of release. Its follow-up, 'On Air – Live at the BBC Volume 2' will be released on Monday, November 11.

Commenting on the release, Paul McCartney said in a statement: "There's a lot of energy and spirit. We are going for it, not holding back at all, trying to put in the best performance of our lifetimes."
