The Big Pink have won the Philip Hall Radar Award at the Shockwaves NME Awards tonight (February 25).

The annual new music prize is awarded to a new group picked by NME's editors, and is named in honour of the late manager of The Stone Roses and Manic Street Preachers.

The London newcomers picked up their prize from last year's recipients Glasvegas at the O2 Academy Brixton in London.

The pair had clearly been enjoying the refreshments offered, simply garbling, "Thank you very much" as they accepted their gong from James Allan and Caroline McKay.

Check out The Big Pink's music on their MySpace page now.
