The Black Keys appear in awkward SNL promo with Charlize Theron – watch

US duo are the musical guests on tomorrow night's show (May 10)

The Black Keys appear alongside Charlize Theron in an SNL promo released yesterday (May 8).

The band are featured as the musical guests on this weekend's edition of the show (May 10), which will be hosted by Charlize Theron. In the three promos, the duo act out a series of mini-sketches alongside SNL cast member Cecily Strong.

Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney are set to release their new album 'Turn Blue' next Monday (May 12). The album, their eighth, follows 2011's Grammy-winning 'El Camino'.

'Turn Blue' was produced by Danger Mouse alongside Auerbach and Carney and was recorded at Sunset Sound in Hollywood last summer as well as at the Key Club in Benton Harbor, Michigan at the start of 2013. Auerbach revealed to NME that he and Carney left the studio just once in two weeks while recording in Michigan.

Meanwhile, Auerbach has also worked with Lana Del Rey on her eagerly anticipated second album, 'Ultraviolence'. Speaking about his time in the studio with the 'Born To Die' singer, he recently admitted the pair had "butted heads" but went on to praise her talent and ability.
