Black Keys beat 'bullshit' posthumous Michael Jackson album to US Number One
'Turn Blue' sells 164,000 copies in the USA in its first week
The two albums were released on the same day, and the Ohio rock duo made their feelings about the posthumous Jackson album clear.
The band's Patrick Carney told Rolling Stone: "[It's] some fucking bullshit that sucks so bad that it took them three years after he died to make it listenable. Like he had to be dead for three years for it to be released." He added that the tracks were only being released because [producer] "LA Reid needed a new boat".
In the UK, where charts are announced on Sunday, three days earlier than in the USA, Jackson beat The Black Keys, scoring his 10th Official Albums Chart Number One. The Black Keys landed at Number Two, which is still their highest charting UK album.
