The Black Keys have sponsored a little league baseball team in Akron, Ohio.

The band's Patrick Carney told TMZ that he used to play for the West Akron Baseball League in Ohio with his childhood best friend, who asked him to sponsor his younger brothers' team. The band agreed and sent $300 to the team to buy new shirts and have offered to sign each one.

Last month, it was announced that Patrick Carney and The Rolling Stones' Mick Taylor had been working together on a track with American blues singer Stephen Dale Petit's. The song, titled 'Holla', is taken from his forthcoming album 'Cracking The Code'. Speaking about the collaboration, Stephen Dale Petit said: "It's been mindblowing to get to work with the best musicians & producers in the world, the crème de la crème. I can't wait for people to hear it."

Meanwhile, The Black Keys are recording a new album with The Black Lips in Carney's Nashville studio.
