Boxer Rebellion to 'star' alongside Drew Barrymore in new movie The Boxer Rebellion Tickets

London group set for band role in 'Going The Distance'

Boxer Rebellion to 'star' alongside Drew Barrymore in new movie
The Boxer Rebellion are set to 'star' in a new film along side Drew Barrymore.

The band who, despite being unsigned managed to outsell the likes of Kings Of Leon on iTunes last summer, will appear in Going The Distance as a band watched by an A&R man character in the film.

“The whole thing came about after our first US show last year at The Troubadour in LA. Some of the guys involved with the film at New Line really loved our music and approached us to be in it," the band's Todd Howe explained.

"[Director] Nanette Burstein also came to our show in New York and we met her the next day and it went from there. They sent over the script and it was hilarious. It was one those things we'd have been mad to turn down and I've struck up a great friendship since with Dave Neustadter, one of the producers, whose relationship the film was based on."

The guitarist added: "Filming was pretty easy for us on the whole and we saw a cut of the film when we were at South By South West in March. It's pretty hilarious and certainly not your average comedy.”

The band also feature on the soundtrack which will be released on August 23. The full tracklisting is:

Generationals – 'Either Way'
George James – 'Places'
Katie Herzig – 'Hey Na Na'
Albert Hammond Jr – 'In Transit'
