The Bravery's Newcastle show off
Date pulled after problems at last night's Ian Brown gig
The Bravery’s concert at the Newcastle Academy tonight (November 22) has been cancelled.
The show was placed into doubt after a “dip” appeared in part of the venue’s dancefloor during Ian Brown’s show there last night.
Announcing the postponement, the Newcastle Academy issued the following statement:
"It is with regret that The Bravery concert will not take place this evening at Carling Academy Newcastle (November 22) following last night’s evacuation during the Ian Brown gig. Earlier today, Carling Academy Newcastle confirmed that a dip appeared in the main auditorium sprung-dance-floor and the venue was cleared immediately for a building inspection for the health and safety of our customers, artists and crew.
"This operation passed smoothly without injury or disruption. Any such issues have been addressed accordingly and we can confirm that the venue will now reopen on November 23 with a show by Teenage Fanclub. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and are awaiting further details as to whether The Bravery concert will be rescheduled at Carling Academy Newcastle at a later date."
As previously reported, the dip appeared six songs into Brown’s set forcing the gig to be abandoned.
