The Breeders battle through sound troubles at Coachella

The twin Deals bounce back for hit-filled set

The Breeders played an afternoon slot on the main stage at day one of the Coachella festival in blistering temperatures.

Flanked by a backdrop of palm trees and mountains, the band kept the close to sunstroked crowd heaving by performing tracks including old favourite 'No Aloha' and songs from their recently released album 'Mountain Battles'.

Wearing her trademark T-shirt, jeans and leather Doc Martens, Kim Deal and twin sister Kelley Deal battled through sound troubles during their set.

Not ones to let that dampen their spirits, the pair jokingly complained into the microphones about not being able to hear the bass and drums properly.

Closing the set with their big 1993 hit 'Cannonball'' and their famed cover of The Beatles' 'Happiness Is A Warm Gun', the band left the stage to cheers and applause from the sweaty throng.
