A CAMP BOMB

A Camp's show is halted when Oxford Street is evacuated...

A CAMP, the new band fronted by NINA PERSSON ex of THE CARDIGANS, have been forced to pull out of an appearance at the HMV store on OXFORD STREET in LONDON this evening (August 21) after it was evacuated during a massive security alert.

Police closed off the street and cleared HMV and nearby buildings during what is believed to have been a bomb-scare. A spokesperson for A Camp told NME.COM that they had decided to err on the side of caution and pull the appearance, scheduled for tonight at 6.30pm. It is unclear at press-time if the alert is ongoing or if normal business has returned to that part of central London.

A Camp, meanwhile, follow two shows at the V2001 festival in Chelmsford and Stafford last weekend (August 18/19) with their own headline show at London Shepherd's Bush Empire tomorrow night. Tickets are available on the door. The band's debut single 'I Can Buy You' is on release now. The self-titled album appears on September 3.
