Sanctuary Records is no more

Sanctuary Records, previously home to The Charlatans, Spiritualized, Ocean Colour Scene and Morrissey up to the release of his last album, has closed down.

The record label, which was bought by Universal Music last month for £44.5million, lost £56.7million in the last financial year.

The management leg of Sanctuary will continue, as will the US arm of the label.

Artists on Sanctuary are expected to continue on one of Universal's labels.
