THE CHECKS ARE FIGHTING FIT

The newcomers are set to rejoin NME New Music Tour inspired by Rizla following illness…

After suffering the setback of having to cancel their first ever British gigs, THE CHECKS will return to action this weekend on the NME NEW MUSIC TOUR INSPIRED BY RIZLA.

The New Zealand newcomers were forced to pull out of the first few dates because singer Ed Knowles developed a throat infection, but they will hit the stage tomorrow night (May 21) at Silhouettes in Hull.

“It was a bummer definitely. We were so excited to play but you know, what can you do?” said guitarist Sven Petterson. “That’s life – you’ve got to cut your losses but we can’t wait to get going again.”

Meanwhile the NME New Music Tour inspired by Rizla continues at the following dates:

Hull Silhouettes (21)
Leeds Cockpit (22)
Northampton Roadmenders (23)
Bristol Fleece (24)
London Garage (24)
Brighton Concorde (25)
Nottingham Rock City (28)
Manchester Roadhouse (30)
Birmingham Academy 2 (31)

The Rakes, The Cribs, Komakino, Towers Of London and Battle are among the bands featuring across the dates.
