THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS have collaborated with Mercury Rev again. They've remixed 'Delta Sun Bottleneck Stomp', a song on Mercury Rev's new album, 'Deserter's Songs', due for release on October 5.
The album is the follow-up to 1995's 'See You On The Other Side'. It's Mercury Rev's fourth LP but their first for their new label V2. The first single to be released from it will be 'Goddess On A Hiway' in October. 'Delta Sun Bottleneck Stomp' will follow later in the year.
Rev singer Jonathan Donahue said that Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons had done the remix in return for him writing parts of 'The Private Psychedelic Reel', which featured on last year's Chemicals' LP, 'Dig Your Own Hole'. Donahue added, "The remix is absolutely wonderful. My dog loves it."
Meanwhile, The Chemical Brothers release their first DJ mix album on September 14, 'Brothers Gonna Work It Out'. A new album proper is due sometime next year.
Mercury Rev play two headlining gigs at Dublin Mean Fiddler (October 20) and London Highbury Garage (November 4), then head out on the road supporting Bob Mould at Manchester Apollo (October 22), Wolverhampton Wulfrun Hall (23), Sheffield Foundry (25), Reading Alleycat (26), Cambridge Junction (27), Norwich Waterfront (28) and London Kentish Town Forum (29).
