Fender have launched a guitar based on The Clash’s Joe Strummer.
The Joe Strummer Telecaster is modelled after the 66 Telecaster Strummer played throughout his career.
He brought the guitar in 1975 for £120 and kept on adding stencils, stickers and new licks of paint giving it its unique look.
To continue this with the new guitar, artist Shepard Fairey has worked on a customization kit with comes with stencils and stickers inspired by the custom design Strummer decorated many of his instruments with.
The kit comes in a classic 12” album cover.
The Telecaster which was designed with the help of the Strummer estate and is available now.
