The Clash will release a new live DVD this spring containing rare archive footage of the band.

'The Clash Live: Revolution Rock', will be released via Epic/Legacy in the US on April 15. A UK release date is yet to be confirmed.

The footage will charts “the live transformation of the band" and features 22 performances from 1977 up to 1983.

The band's long time visual collaborator Don Letts, who produced the DVD, has contributed his own footage for the project.

The DVD will also contain two interviews with the band, filmed in 1981.

Excellent! The Clash are a band that defined a generation & are one of the best things to come out of the Punk era/genre. Cannot wait until it is released in the UK!!

I can't wait. The Clash were really the true spirit of punk in that they did what they wanted and to hell with the consequences. With so many rules imposed on the genre of 'punk' it's fantastic to know that The Clash are still being recognized for their always forward moving inventiveness and fearless artistic expression.

Whilst i applaud any dvd release from the clash this latest dvd collection is anything but rare or new!
each and every track listed has been available for many years..ok not as an official release but still easy to get hold of and as such any clash fan worth there salt will already have this lot...HOW ABOUT RELEASEING SOME TRULEY RARE FOOTAGE AS I KNOW THAT MANY OF THE CLASH GIGS WERE FILMED IN THERE ENTIRITY AS I WAS THERE!! NOW THAT WOULD BE A GREAT RELEAE A FULL LIVE CLASH GIG!!!!!
