STRAIGHT OUTTA READING!
The Reading six-piece begin their assault on the States...
The Reading six-piece, currently on their first jaunt across the US, impressed a packed crowd which included Black Rebel Motorcycle Club’s Robert Turner, via a storming set at legendary venue The Troubadour.
The band kept their words on stage to a minimum, Frontman Ben Gautrey occasionally noting a song title or mentioning the group’s hometown. Instead, they put their energy into their hour long set which treaded through tracks including ‘Did You Miss Me’, ‘Film Maker’, ‘Who Needs Enemies?’, ‘Amber’ and ‘Let’s Kill Music’ from their debut ’See Through This and Leave’.
Drummer John Harper said the band were also happy with the performance.
"Winona [Ryder] didn’t come, or maybe she came in disguise," he joked, "but [the gig] was really good. Tonight was one of those gigs where we all came off and thought it was pretty good. Toronto and tonight [have been] our best gigs."
The band continue their US tour in San Francisco tonight (March 25).
