The cosmic scousers play to a few hundred fans in the capital’s 100 Club

The Coral performed a set comprised of both new tracks and old favourites to a crowd of around 250 competition winners at the intimate 100 Club in London tonight (August 6).

The show was the first of radio station XFM’s 10th anniversary celebration gigs taking place throughout London.

The series will see the likes of Razorlight, The Kooks, Kaiser Chiefs and Kate Nash playing small shows across the capital throughout the rest of the year.

Singer James Skelly and his band opened their set with ‘Goodbye’. They continued with old favourites such as ‘Simon Diamond’, the little-aired ‘I Remember When’ and ‘Dreaming Of You’. The latter song inspired a mini-mosh pit in the small venue.

The band also performed songs from their new album, ‘Roots And Echoes’, including ‘Jacqueline’, ‘Who’s Gonna Find Me’ and ‘In The Rain’.

During ‘She Sings In The Mourning’ guitarist Bill Ryder Jones played his guitar using a violin bow.

Following the encore-less show, The Coral were whisked away to a secret location in London for their after-party, which featured a DJ set from 1965 Records and The View cohort James Endeacott.

The full set-list was:

'Goodbye'
'Simon Diamond'
'Who's Gonna Find Me'
'Jacqueline'
'She Sings The Mourning'
'Pass It On'
'Remember Me'
'Dreaming Of You'
'Far From The Crowd'
'In The Morning'
'In The Rain'
'Calendars And Clocks'
'Don't Think You’re The First'
'I Remember When'
'She's Got A Reason'
