The Courteeners are set to play as part of Manchester United FC's victory parade tonight (May 13).

The band's short performance will take place in Manchester's Albert Square at roughly 7.30pm [BST] and come before Sir Alex Ferguson's speech.

The Courteeners's 2008 track 'Not Nineteen Forever' was recently named Manchester United FC's official celebration song for their 20th Premier League victory. The team topped the league following a 3-0 win against Aston Villa at Old Trafford and the song – which is taken from the band's debut album 'St Jude' – shot back into the iTunes Top 100, as fans purchased the track to celebrate their team's victory.

The Courteeners play two homecoming shows on July 5 and 6, at Manchester's Castlefield Bowl, with support from Miles Kane, Reverend & the Makers, James Skelly & The Intenders, The Strypes, The Heartbreaks and Findlay. Of the shows frontman Liam Fray has said: "To spend two nights with our fans under the stars of Manchester will be very special indeed. It'll be great to finally be bringing 'Anna' home. With some amazing supports, people are in for a treat... July can't come quick enough. Let's pray it doesn't rain."
