The Courteeners announce Glastonbury warm-up gig in Liverpool – ticket details
They will play Liverpool O2 Academy on June 25 ahead of their festival set on June 28
Tickets for the one-off show go on sale at 9am [BST] on June 14. The band play Glastonbury on June 28 and will then follow the high-profile festival slot with their own massive headline shows at Manchester's Castlefield Bowl on July 5-6, with support from Miles Kane, Reverend & The Makers, James Skelly & The Intenders, The Strypes, The Heartbreaks and Findlay. Of these shows frontman Liam Fray has said: "To spend two nights with our fans under the stars of Manchester will be very special indeed. It'll be great to finally be bringing 'Anna' home. With some amazing supports, people are in for a treat... July can't come quick enough. Let's pray it doesn't rain."
Last month, The Courteeners played as part of Manchester United's victory parade. Their 2008 track 'Not Nineteen Forever' was named Manchester United's official celebration song for their 20th Premier League victory and the band performed in Manchester's Albert Square before Sir Alex Ferguson's celebratory speech.
