Speaking about the tour, The Cribs' frontman Ryan Jarman said: “It feels so exciting. Whenever I go on tour I say I’m going to war – and this is a very exciting war!”

The coveted opening slot, which has been in previous years filled by Kaiser Chiefs, Coldplay and Franz Ferdinand, is being taken by The Ting Tings.

Drummer and vocalist Jules De Martino said: “We’re chuffed to bits. We’ve got the legendary first spot – we’re going to have a right blast then party for the rest of the night. It’s going to be our year highlight, even though it starts in January.”

weak line up. VERY weak. last year: two tours with major up and coming acts with mercury prize winners. this year: 3 average bands and one amazing headlining band.

I love The Cribs, but the other bands?! I'm going to buy my ticket today and reserve judgment on the others. Gone are the big band days....let's hope not.
