The Cribs' Johnny Marr has pierced bandmate Ryan Jarman's right ear – and a video of the entire process has been posted online.

The guitar legend went about Jarman's ear between sessions for the Wakefield/Manchester band's new album, which they are currently recording with producer Nick Launay.

As well as the ear piercing, the video features a musical work in process from the band as the background music, giving fans a sneak preview of the album.

"We should bring the ear piercing back in vogue – because we are a hipster band," Jarman declares in the video.
